EndNote Filter for SUNCAT
To import records from SUNCAT into third-party bibliographic software it is possible to:
1) Connect to SUNCAT from EndNote using the SUNCAT connection file for Windows. Please ensure that when you download this file that it is saved into the EndNote Connections directory. EndNote does not have a reference type for serials so the default used in this connection file is the generic type. Individuals may choose to set up their own serials reference type locally to allow them to import specific serials information. Please contact the EDINA helpdesk at if you would like more information on how to set this up.
2) Search SUNCAT directly and save records in a text file which can then be imported into EndNote. In SUNCAT select the ISI ResearchSoft Tagged Output Format for record format when saving the records. In EndNote choose the File/Import option and from the list of import options choose Reference Manager (RIS). Unfortunately there is an existing bug in the Aleph software which means that this process only works for records selected and saved directly from a results list. It does not currently work for records saved from the Marked Items area or from the Full Record Display. We are investigating these issues with Ex Libris and hope to resolve them shortly.
